Current Research

She is currently writing her doctoral dissertation on how the production of race and racial hierarchies is deeply intertwined with economic migration and global capitalism in contemporary East Asia. Her research involved working alongside foreign migrant workers in South Korean factories and interviewing foreign brides from Southeast Asian countries. She has considerable experience working on issues of migration and multiculturalism. Since 2002, she has volunteered and worked at several foreign migrant centres in densely populated foreign worker districts in South Korea.

She is currently staying in the Netherlands. She is a visiting researcher in Centre for East Asian Studies in the University of Groningen.
